I was chatting with an interior designer client the other day about how she tried using a website template—something sleek and beautiful, with all the bells and whistles. But after a few weeks, she realized it just wasn’t doing everything she needed. It looked fine on the surface, but behind the scenes? It wasn’t built to support her business, her clients, or her goals.

Templates are tempting. They’re quick, they’re pretty, and they seem like the easy answer. But what works for someone else won’t necessarily work for your business.

Your website isn’t just there to make things look good. It needs to align your online presence with your business goals, attract the right kind of clients, showcase your portfolio with clarity and ease, and create a user experience that feels seamless and elevated.

A little before and after for your viewing pleasure ✨

This primary bedroom started with a cramped closet tucked in one corner and a small, attached bonus space that never quite found its purpose. Neither worked well on its own, and together they created more frustration than flow.

So I reimagined the entire layout—removed a couple of walls, reworked the footprint, and transformed a disjointed setup into one seamless, functional experience. I maximized storage with double-height hanging space and under-window shoe cabinet, layered in lighting, and used deep, immersive colors to define the new space.

Now? It’s a walk-through dream. Everything is tucked away but accessible, and there’s even a little breathing room to pause, get dressed, and ease into the day. It feels intuitive, elevated, and just the right amount of indulgent.

It’s almost here! Tomorrow, the porches of Dorchester turn into stages, and the streets come alive with music, neighbors, and that unmistakable @dorchfest energy.

Thanks to a new lead organizer (looking at you @greaterashmont ), a fortified team, and lots of time and energy from a dedicated committee of Dorchfestie neighbors, this year’s Dorchfest is shaping up to be the best one yet!

Once again, I’ve had the joy of helping bring this one-of-a-kind music festival to life. To celebrate year 4️⃣, I gave the Dorchfest website the refresh it deserved: more color, more clarity, and a design that captures the spirit of this day—lively, local, and full of heart.

If you’re local, come wander the streets, dance with your kids, meet someone new, and soak it all in. It’s community showing up in the most beautiful way, and it’s one of my favorite days of the year.

There’s only one Dorchfest. Can’t wait to see you there!

Summer is calling, and that means slower mornings, lighter schedules, and maybe even a little less Zoom time (yes, please). Before we officially shift into vacation mode, we’ve got one more Designers Clubhouse networking session, and I’d love for you to be there.

Let’s take a moment for this kitchen before the weekend rush begins.

This space was both a challenge and a bit of a love letter. With the original countertops, floor tile, and backsplash staying put, the goal was to bring in warmth and depth while still keeping things light and airy. Every design decision became a study in contrast—layering richness without losing the ease and laid-back feel of a kitchen that holds all of the chaos of everyday life.

I’ll share more on the design choices soon, but for now, just a little peek at a corner that makes me smile every time I walk by.
